I dont think very much at all of most television today. Not like yesterday's shows that the whole family could sit around and enjoy. Most of my time watching the tube is on the documentary channels...stuff like History, TLC, Discovery. And there are only two shows that for me, are must views. Sadly, one is coming to an end.
Les Stroud started Survivorman in 2004. This season # 3, ending on 12/119/08 will be his last. In an article on Reuters, Les mentions that doing the show has taken its toll on him. Running from a jaguar, sleeping in lion country, nearly falling to heat stroke has taken a toll on him and he wishes to move on to other things.
I can understand that, but it grieves me that he is ending the series and moving on to other things. It was a show in which I learned much and enjoyed watching Les as he fought the elements and his own limitations for 7 days surviving in hostile environments.
Twenty three shows will be the final count for this series. A series that will always be fondly remembered and viewed with admiration for a man who took an idea and created a wonderful series that taught me so much.
Best of luck Les in all your future endeavors.
